輪島塗
Wajima Nuri
輪島塗とは、日本の石川県輪島市周辺で伝承される、漆を使った塗り物技術のことです。 高い技術力と品質により、輪島塗製品は美術工芸品や家具、建築材料などに幅広く用いられており、現状から高い評価を得ています。「素地が木地であること」「布着せしていること」「地の粉下地であること」この３つの条件を満たして輪島で制作される漆器が輪島塗と呼ばれ重要無形文化財に指定されているのが伝統工芸輪島塗です。堅牢優美な輪島塗は傷んでも直すことができ、世代を越えてお使い頂ける漆器です。
The traditional craft of Wajima-nuri has been handed down from generation to generation in the area around Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture. To be called Wajima-nuri, lacquerware must meet three conditions: 1) the base must be wood, 2) it must be covered with cloth, and 3) it must have a powder base coat. Due to their high level of technique and quality, Wajima-nuri products are widely used in arts and crafts, furniture, building materials, etc., and are highly regarded. Wajima-nuri products are both sturdy and elegant, and they can be repaired even if damaged, making this a lacquerware that can be used for generations. For all of these reasons, Wajima-nuri is designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Property.
