Omori shakuhachi are made from madake bamboo sourced from the Omori area of ​​Katsuura City, Chiba Prefecture. These shakuhachi are carefully handcrafted using techniques that originated in the Edo period, and because each instrument retains the beautiful natural shape of the bamboo, each is one of a kind. In 2019, Omori shakuhachi received official designation from Chiba Prefecture as a traditional craft.
