Sugagawa Enobori

About 230 years ago, it is said that the custom of drawing Shoki on Japanese paper and cloth to celebrate the growth of boys on Children's Day was the beginning of Sukagawa Enobori. Its distinctive features include strong, dynamic lines and vibrant colors that do not fade even when exposed to wind and rain. In recent years, modern sensibilities have been incorporated into the traditional designs. These flags are designated as traditional crafts by Fukushima Prefecture and are produced in Sugagawa City.
