Mikamo Yaki

Established in Tochigi prefecture, Mikamo Yaki is named after its use of clay sourced from the foot of Mt Mikamoyama. The practice is characterised by its warm and simple pieces of pottery, made from iron-rich clay. Vases made in the Mikamo Yaki style are believed to help flowers last longer.
