Kikuma Onigawara is a renowned traditional roof tile craft from Kikuma Town in Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture (Shikoku region). It is famous for its high-quality local clay, ideal for making strong, weather-resistant tiles which are fired to produce a smoky silver-gray color (ibushi-gin) similar to Sanshu Onigawara. These tiles, often featuring bold, expressive oni (demon) faces, are highly regarded for their durability and artistry, and the tradition goes back to the Edo period (17th century).
