阿漕焼
Akogi Yaki


萬古焼の流れを汲み、200年の歴史がある。九谷焼のような絵付けを施すのが特徴。朱・緑・黄・紫・紺青など鮮やかな色彩を匠に使っている。器全体にみると萬古焼の流れを汲みながら、九谷焼のような絵付けが施されている。津の赤黒い土を使って、色鮮やかな絵付けが魅力である。地元の土に伊賀焼や瀬戸焼の土を混ぜて、手ろくろで力強く成形されています。釉薬は灰釉を中心に、高取焼や萩焼風のものを使って阿漕焼ならではの作品が創作されている。
Akogi Yaki is a designated Mie Prefecture Traditional Craft. On a hand-thrown base that includes the reddish-black clay from Tsu, it distinctively blends the overall form of Banko Yaki with the vibrant, detailed overglaze enamel painting of Kutani ware Its history is one of resilience and adaptation. Originating briefly as Ando-yaki in the mid-18th century, the craft faced repeated declines. After an initial revival faltered with the Meiji era (1868-1912), production was shifted to everyday items. In the early 20th century, economic hardship shuttered production entirely until 1931 when the Tsu City mayor invited a renowned Banko ware artisan to restore the tradition, leading to the esteemed Akogi Yaki tea ceramics created today.
