Fukube Zaiku

ふくべとは、夕顔の実のことです。夕顔の実の果肉を、細長くむいて乾燥させたものが、栃木県の特産品のかんぴょうです。ふくべ細工は、大きく成熟したふくべの果肉を取り除き、外皮を乾燥させたものを材料として作られます。ふくべの形を活かして、墨入れや花器、小物入れなどに加工され、利用されるほか、表面に色鮮やかに絵付けされた人形や、伝説の百目鬼（どうめき）をもとにした魔除けの面などが土産品として有名です。
