遠野附馬牛人形
Toono Tsukemoushi Ningyo


遠野郷、附馬牛村において、小笠原家三代にわたって作られた土人形ですが、その源流は花巻人形や堤人形、京都の伏見人形にまでさかのぼるとも言われています。原料は和紙と遠野の土を練り合わせ型取りし、自然乾燥させたのち、下地として膠(にかわ)で溶いた胡粉を4~5回塗り乾燥後布で磨いて艶を出す。(これが白い顔などの部分として残る)次に赤・黄・紫その他の塗料や山いちご、山ぶどうなどを使った彩料で色付け仕上げます。
今も昔と変わらぬ製法の素朴な人形です。
