Iwate Prefecture. The technique originally started in Scotland and Ireland in England, which came to Japan in the Meiji era. It is roughly woven using a thick hand-spun yarn. The characteristic is its elasticity which makes it less likely to wrinkle, and it gives a light texture when worn.
