Isesaki Kasuri is a textile originating from Isesaki City in Gunma Prefecture. The fabric is often used in kimono and has been highly valued for its nice feel and tecture. The more the fabric is used, the more the pattern and luster of the textile will develop, deepening the fabric over time. Isesaki Kasuri is characterized by the use of techniques such as “kukuri kasuri”, “itajime kasuri”, and “katagami oshizome kako kasuri.” Most of the process is done by hand.
