Honjou Orimono

Honjo Kasuri is a traditional silk fabric from Honjo City and Kodama County, originally developed as a farmer’s side job. Daughters of farming families would raise silkworms at home, spin their own thread, and weave thick, durable cloth for daily use. Over time, this practice evolved into a recognized textile craft, and today, Honjo Kasuri is a designated production area known for preserving this heritage of handmade silk weaving.
