Made with plant-dyed, hand-woven fabric, these supple cords are used today in obi ties, haori cords, and loop ties. Visitors can experience the intricate techniques behind their creation up close. Designated an intangible cultural property of Tochigi Prefecture in 1973, these cords continue to capture hearts through items like the "Good Luck Straps," created in collaboration with Shimotsuke dolls.
