南木曽ろくろ細工
NAGISO Rokuro Zaiku
なぎそろくろ工芸は、長野県木曽郡南木曽町周辺で作られている木工品です。18世紀前半に誕生した伝統工芸品で、ろくろ工芸という技によって製作されています。特徴は、生み出される木目を、自然の美しさをそのまま引き出している点です。お盆、茶櫃などが主に作られます。木曽の豊かな森林から採れる名木がろくろ工芸が親しまれる根源になっています。
Wood lathing, a traditional craft born in the early 18th century, became popular in Kiso District, Nagano Prefecture as a result of the availability of high-quality wood from its abundant forests. Nagiso woodworks, made in the area around Minami Kiso Town in the Kiso District, include trays and tea cabinets. These crafts are particularly valued for their simple elegance and their gorgeous wood grain.
