栃木の樽
Tochigi no Taru


江戸時代から千葉県野田市で続いている醤油樽の製造技術が受け継がれています。主に、県内産の杉を材料とし、栃木市産の真竹のタガで締め付けた樽は、密封性が高く実用性に富んでいます。 漆塗装を施した祭礼・装飾用の物もつくられています。栃木県伝統工芸品。
These soy sauce barrels are a traditional craft of Tochigi Prefecture, and the techniques used to make them have been passed down since the Edo period in Noda City, Chiba Prefecture. The barrels are made primarily from locally grown cedar and fastened with madake bamboo bands grown in Tochigi City. This makes them highly airtight and practical. Lacquered barrels are also made for festivals and decorations.
