A craft of Chiba Prefecture, these wood inlay products are made in Abiko City, Chiba Prefecture. Using wood inlay techniques, craftsmen cut pieces of wood of different colors, then fit them together to create a variety of patterns and images. Designs range from wild bird patterns to reproductions of elaborate ukiyo-e paintings.
