Summary: "Local artisans of pottery, glass, woodworking and other fields will come together to collaborate, raising awareness of Tanba Sasayama crafts both domestically and internationally, and creating a local tourist attraction."
Biography
Born in 1965 to a Kyoto ware pottery family. Growing up in an environment where "making things" was the norm, he eventually became aware of clay as a material and was moved by the way it took shape through the act of firing. He began creating art in 1988, and has since exhibited in public competitions and solo exhibitions. He established his studio in the Murakumo district, a rural area in the eastern part of Sasayama City, and continues to reflect his own unique style in his pottery, which transcends the boundaries of pottery production and tradition.
