Take Action

How to Participate

JapanCraft21 was established in 2018 with the aim of reviving traditional Japanese crafts that are in danger of disappearing in the 21st century .

At a crossroads where traditional crafts face the possibility of either disappearing or reviving, we are working together to deepen our understanding of crafts. For the future of crafts, why not join us at JapanCraft21?

Our activities and projects are supported by the diverse support of everyone.

Participation is accepted throughout the year.

We hope you will be a part of passing on Japan's important traditions to the future in a way that suits your style.

JapanCraft21 is dedicated to helping people both in Japan and abroad appreciate the breadth and depth of skills possessed by Japan's master craftsmen. We teach traditional techniques to young artisans, ensuring their continuation for future generations. We also promote the value and appeal of crafts through exhibitions and online seminars.

Revitalization Contest

In addition, the grand prize winner and up to nine runners-up will be supported as "Craft Leaders" to help promote the future of traditional crafts.

Shinmachiya Juku

An Opportunity to Learn

JapanCraft21 regularly holds presentations and seminars for its members on a variety of themes, including ceramics, gardens, and architecture.

In addition, our specially planned tours for our premium members offer invaluable experiences that are not usually available, such as visits to craftspeople's workshops, special guided tours of museums led by curators, and visits to the homes of private collectors.

An opportunity to make an effective cultural contribution

Would you like to learn about traditional Japanese crafts and participate in activities aimed at revitalizing them, together with like-minded individuals from Japan and abroad?

JapanCraft21 is still a very small organization, but we will steadily and surely achieve what we can with our own efforts.
