Biography

Born in Kyoto in 1977. After graduating from university, he took over the family business. Without changing the essence of the craft of drawing foil, an important process in Nishijin weaving, he continues to innovate with materials, tools, and designs, passing on the techniques to future generations. Awards:
2008 Nishijin Kimono & Obi Festival: Received the Kinki Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry Director's Award for the "Maple Maple" obi.
2013 Nishijin Kimono & Obi Festival: Received the Kyoto Japanese Clothing Industry Promotion Foundation Chairman's Award for the "Bijin" obi.
2014 Nishijin Kimono & Obi Festival: Received the Kyoto Japanese Clothing Industry Promotion Foundation Chairman's Award for the "Dandelion" obi.
2015 Nishijin Kimono & Obi Festival: Received the Grand Prize in the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award for the "Spyglass with Cherry Blossom and Monkey Design (Mother Monkey)" obi.
2017 Nishijin Kimono & Obi Festival: Received the Kyoto Textile Wholesalers Association Chairman's Award for the "Maple Leaves" obi.
2019 Kyoto Youth Competition: Received the Runner-up Award for the "Nishijin Woven Foil Chopsticks."
*Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike wore a fukuro obi made by our company at the closing ceremony of the 2016 Rio Olympics.
