Summary: "A project that combines the domestic silk dyeing and weaving craftsmanship cultivated through kimono making with eco-friendly materials from other craft industries to create new spatial value."

Biography

Born in Tokyo in 1966. Graduated from the Master's program at Aoyama Gakuin University Graduate School of International Politics and Economics. Moved to Kyoto due to his father's job transfer. In 1995, he joined a group company of Itoko Co., Ltd., a long-established manufacturer of white kimono fabrics founded by his grandfather, Kojiro Ito. In 2015, he succeeded his father as president and continues to serve in that role. Driven by a strong desire to preserve the culture of silk, the raw material for kimonos, in Japan, he engages in the handiwork of traditional craftsmen, including kimono weaving, dyeing, and gold leafing, as well as the development of new interior materials.
