Vision

Junji Toda is the fourth-generation owner of Takehei, a bamboo specialty store in Kyoto, and also a producer of bamboo crafts. Takehei has provided artists, craftsmen, architects, gardeners, and others with rare bamboo materials in a variety of colors, shapes, and properties. While carrying on this long tradition, Toda is expanding the scope of his business by developing and introducing beautifully designed, high-quality bamboo products to utilize bamboo as a stylish material in line with modern trends, targeting young architects and overseas designers. His ultimate goal is to pass on Japan's advanced bamboo crafting and processing techniques to the next generation.
