Vision

Uetsu Shina Cloth, made from tree bark using traditional methods, is full of potential for use in interior design. With the cooperation and advice of designers and other professionals skilled in their fields, we hope to expand the needs for Shina Cloth by taking advantage of its unique characteristics, and elevate it into innovative works and products.

Vision

Born in Sakado City, Saitama Prefecture in 1977. Graduated from Tohoku University of Art and Design, Metalwork Course, and completed the Experimental Art Course at the same university's graduate school. Contemporary artist. Active throughout Japan and around the world, using expressive methods appropriate to the time and place, including three-dimensional sculpture, installation, performance, and writing. Deeply impressed by the culture surrounding the Matagi (traditional hunters) of Yamakumada, Murakami City, he moved there in 2015.

Currently, she is carrying on the tradition of "Uetsu Shina cloth," a nationally designated traditional craft passed down in Yamakumada, and has established her own workshop. She is dedicated to the production, development, and promotion of Uetsu Shina cloth.
